In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
We have over 4 million active users across Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire and are rapidly scaling. We are looking for an energetic and creative Marketing Manager who can run our day-to-day marketing activities as we grow our user base and build our brand in Burkina Faso.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate day-to-day ATL and BTL marketing activities in Burkina Faso with a focus on online.
- Plan and implement relevant lead generation and awareness strategies through PR, mass media, and digital channels.
- Understand Wave’s product and values and translate them across all of our marketing channels, from messaging to branding.
- Support operational teams (sales, distribution network, business development...) and help them reach their business objectives.
- Report progress and effectiveness of actions planned.
Key Details:
- Location: Ouagadougou.
- Travel: Frequent travel within the country is required.
- Work authorization in Burkina is required.

Requirements:
- Language: Fluent in French and Moore, excellent English.
- Strong, written and verbal skills.
- Good organizational skills, able to work independently.
- Experience in coordinating marketing activities at a rapidly scaling organization.
- At least 7 years in managing marketing strategies at a multi-national or start-up company.
- Experience in developing content for online channels (social media, google ads) to drive result.

- Have a proven record in the deployment of successful user acquisition/retention/conversion strategies.
- Are data-oriented.
- Are creative with strategic vision and great attention to detail.
- Are intellectually curious and creative in the way you go about tackling problems.
- Demonstrate tenacity and a willingness to go the distance to get something done.
- Are a strong communicator and are comfortable defaulting to overreaching when it comes to coordination.
- Have an extended network of quality vendors, suppliers, content creators, and entertainers in Ouagadougou.
- Are a creative with a strong interest and curiosity in content creation.
