In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. In 2019, we expanded to Cote d'Ivoire. Now, we have millions of users and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent. And that's where you come in....
How you'll help us achieve it
The PAA (Premium Agent Assistant) role within the premium agency would be to open and close books. Ensure that all transactions accounted for in the system are backed up manually. The PAA will be responsible for the daily reconciliation of the transactions, which should be validated daily by the Premium Agent Officer. Reactivity to client's needs, enthusiasm in the work environment, and versatility through the tasks given and problems encountered.
In this role, you'll;
- Help agents nearby with liquidity needs (deposit and withdraws).
- Support agent/client needs (Wave's offer, opening account, how the system works, the app, physical card).
- Maintaining daily reconciliation of premium points.
- Ensure that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the treasury system.
- Request promptly sufficient funds to ensure rebalance with agents/clients.
- Report any discrepancies or challenges encountered to PAO.
- Report any fake bills to the hierarchy.
Key details
- Location: You'll work from our Premium outlet in the assigned area: Bakel or Dagana
- Work authorization in Senegal.

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a cashier in cash management, reconciliation & liquidity management, cash handling or delivery
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or any related field
- Strong proficiency in Wolof and French.
- Proficiency in English is a plus.
- Solid proficiency with Excel/google sheets.
- Are analytical and pay attention to detail
- Experience working with field teams or field located cash offices will be an added advantage.
