3.4.2 Steps to Enroll/Update Users Fingerprint
  1. Start the EMBASSY Security Center and select Windows Login.

  2. Go to the User Enrollment section and select the Enroll/Update Fingerprint button (as shown in Figure 3.17).

    Note: Only a Local Administrator will have access to User Enrollment, if you have no Administrator privileges you will only be able to view which fingerprints are currently enroll, see the screen shown in Figure 3.18 and Figure 3.19.

  4. Selecting the Enroll/Update Fingerprint launches a simple wizard that guides users through registering or updating fingerprints for use during authentication (see Figure 3.20). Users must have valid fingerprint authentication device properly installed and configured. (see listing of AuthenTec Sensor Integrated Products).

  6. Press the Select button; this will display the window shown in Figure 3.21.

  7. Press the Advanced button; this will display the window shown in Figure 3.22.

  9. Select the userid that belongs to the user you currently have waiting to enroll its fingerprints, and then press OK. This will update the Select User or Group window as shown in Figure 3.23.

  11. Press OK, this will update the Select User and Domain to Enroll window as shown in Figure 3.24, then press Next. This will open the Enrollment Hints Window as shown in Figure 3.25.

  13. Various windows will be shown giving the user a brief tutorial on the enrollment process and how to swipe your finger for a good read. Follow the instructions

  15. Select the finger that the user will be using for authentication to the computer, once a finger is selected the system starts a window as shown in Figure 3.27 that prompts the user to swipe their finger. Once the software collect 3 good samples of your fingerprints, it has successfully enrolled that finger, see Figure 3.28.

  17. If you wish to enroll more fingers you may do so by selecting the other finger you wish to enroll and follow the same process of swiping your finger.

  18. At this point if you are not enrolling additional fingers for this user you could click Finish and you are done. This will display the message shown in Figure 3.29, which indicates a user has been successfully enrolled.

    To enroll fingerprint credentials for additional users you will go to the EMBASSY Security Center window at the User Enrollment sub-section under the Window Login section and start the process for a different user.

    To modify and/or update fingerprint credentials, you will follow the same process. Now the user is ready to log into the local computer using his fingerprints.

Note: To delete an already enrolled fingerprint, all you need to do is to click on fingerprint that you want removed. A screen will appear that says: " Do you want to delete this fingerprint? " , click Yes.
