Fingerprint Enrollment Error on Dell Latitude E5XXX Series Machines
Problem:
User is trying to enroll a fingerprint for Preboot or Windows on an E5XXX series machine and receives the following error, “An error occurred during Fingerprint Enrollment. Please try to re-enroll this fingerprint. If you continue to receive this error please contact Technical Support”.Solution:
Go to C:\Program Files\Dell\Security Device Driver Pack\Authentec AES2810 Fingerprint Reader\Tools. Within this folder you should have an executable named AESReset.exe. Double click to launch this tool and follow the instructions. This will clear the fingerprint reader and restore it to factory settings enabling successful fingerprint enrollment.Note: This tool is available with DCP 1.4.4 only. For older versions of DCP, please upgrade to the lastest version of DCP available at http://support.dell.com/.
