6.1 Document Manager Vault Commands

The following commands are available from the Document Manager Vault Interface menu bar, these commands provide a way to create, manage, share, backup and restore Document Manager Vaults. Please remember that some of these options are not available under Document Manager lite.

Properties Displays the file properties for the current vault
Exit Exits the Document Manager Vault Interface.
User is given the option of remaining logged into the current vault.
Open Opens a different vault in the Document Manager Vault Interface.
The user must enter the Vault Password to open the Vault.
Create Create a new Vault. Vaults may be created anywhere on the current file system. User must have write access to the Vault directory to create a Vault.
Creation of a Vault will require a Vault name. Users may find it helpful to name the Vault directory (defined as the Vault Location field) the same as the Vault name.
Share Enable a Vault to be shared with other Document Manager users. The user will be prompted for the creation of a Sharing Password for the Vault.
Once a Vault is enabled for sharing, users may share the Vault by giving the Vault Location and the Sharing Password to other Document Manager users. These users may then use the Connect command to access the shared fault. Once they access the Shared Vault successfully, they will be able to access the Vault contents.
Connect Connect to a Vault that has had sharing enabled by another Document Manager user. The Sharing Password must be entered to successfully connect to a shared Vault.
Disconnect Removes a connected shared Vault from the list of available vaults for the current user. The user may use the connect function to gain access to a Vault that has been disconnected.
Backup Creates a backup of the selected Vault. Backups include the Vault contents and the TPM keys needed to access the Vault.
Restore to current vault Restores a backup of a Vault to the current vault, overwriting the contents of the current vault. The Restore function will restore the Vault, its contents and the TPM keys for the Vault.
Restore to a new vault Restores a backup of a Vault to a newly created vault rather than the current vault. The Restore function will restore the data and the TPM keys for the Vault.
Set as default Sets the current vault as the default vault
