5.3.5 PIM Notes
The Notes tab provides a convenient place for users to organize free form data. Data stored in the Notes tab, like all data managed by Private Information Manager, is secured by the user's TPM.
To access the Note tab:
- Right click on the System Tray icon
and select Open from the menu.
- Click the Notes tab (see Figure 5.39)
- Select the Notes tab

To View a Note:
- Select the note in the main window and then select Edit/View Note.
To Add a Note:
- Select the folder where the Note is to be created. To create the Note at the top level, ensure that no folder is selected. Users may deselect all folders/notes by pointing to the extreme right of the note pane and left clicking twice.
- Select the Add Note.
- Enter a title for the Note
- Enter the Note text.
- Select Save to save and exit the Note dialog.
To Edit a Note:
- Select the Note to edit.
- Select Edit/View Note.
- When edits are complete, select Save to save and exit the Edit/View Note dialog.
Create Folder:
- Select the parent of the new folder. If no parent folder is selected, the new folder will be added directly top level.
- Select Create Folder or right-click anywhere in the open area of the Notes tab and select Create Folder from the pop-up menu.
- Type the name of the new folder.
- Press [Enter]. The new folder is created and is ready for use.
Rename Note or Folder:
- Select the Folder or Note to rename.
- Select Rename or right-click the folder to rename and select Rename from the pop-up menu.
- Enter the new Folder or Note name.
- Press [Enter].
Delete a Note or Folder
- Select the Folder or Note to delete.
- Select Delete or right-click the entry to be removed and select Delete from the pop-up menu.
- Confirm the delete operation. Select Yes and the Note or Folder will be removed from the list.
Move To Folder:
- Select the Note or Folder to move.
- Select the Move To Folder button.
- A drop-down list of available folders shall be displayed. Select the target folder.
Note: Notes and Folders may also be moved with drag and drop.
