Enabling TPM on Gateway PC

The instructions in this section describes the process for enabling the TPM’s a Gateway computer, if you have a different computer, please refer to the manufacturer’s manual for instructions on how to access the BIOS setup menu for that computer and enabling its TPM chip.

Steps for Enabling TPM:

Turn on or reboot your computer, during the startup screen (see Figure 1), press F2 to go to the BIOS Settings menu.
On the BIOS menu, see Figure 2, using the arrow keys to go to the Security Screen (see Figure 3).
As you can see in Figure 3, the TPM Status is unavailable until the Supervisor Password gets set. Move the arrow keys to Set Supervisor Password, and press <ENTER> .
The Set Supervisor Password screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 4, prompting you to create the Supervisor Password.
Once the Supervisor Password is set, you will be able to access the TPM Status (see Figure 5) and modify it.
Move the arrow key to TPM Status and press <ENTER>, a submenu is shown (see Figure 6) prompting you to choose either On or Off, select On and press <ENTER> to continue.
Once the TPM Status is On, new options will be shown in the Security Menu, see Figure 7. If the TPM Security Status is set to Enabled, then you press F10 to Save and Exit.
